Champagne is only genuine if it was pressed in the Champagne region; Parmesan must come from Italy, and caviar only comes from sturgeon.

Is there only black caviar?

Many a sparkling wine is pressed with more passion and offers higher quality than champagne, and the same applies to Parmesan or a whole range of products with regional or comparable relevance. And caviar is not without its counterparts either. However, while in German, roe from salmon or trout is usually dismissed as "fake" caviar, this is quite different in the "homeland" of caviar. In Russian, sturgeon caviar is simply called “chernaya ikra” (black caviar) after its color, and salmon and trout caviar is called “krasnaya ikra” (red caviar).

In the end, however, there's only one reason to choose red or black caviar – your very own personal taste. Because both offer a taste experience!
